Gyu-Kaku is offering Houston diners an authentic yakiniku experience at their Memorial and Gray locations. Yakiniku, or grilled barbeque, is a style of Japanese barbeque that embraces a shared plate dining experience where everyone can grill their own food right at the table. It’s a great spot if you’re in the market for good food or good conversation, as the community style table and grill setup offers your party the opportunity to cook, talk, and really experience a sort of communal cooking that’s hard to enjoy at more traditional sit-and-eat restaurants.
With a selection of marinated meats and vegetables ready for the grill, or some ready to eat appetizers and plates, Gyu-Kaku has a whole range of flavors to choose from. Personal favorites are the Yaki-Shabu Beef marinated in a rich Miso sauce and the Premium Sirloin in the Tare Sweet Soy marinade. Other menu highlights are the Beef Sukiyaki Bibimbap and a list of BBQ courses, which lay out a whole curated spread of Gyu-Kaku’s menu for those intrepid (or indecisive) enough to try several different selections.
The shared dining experience and smokeless grill make it an excellent place for those looking to try something a little different, or anyone that enjoys delicious, high quality meats mixed with the fun of grilling together with friends and family. You are welcome to walk in and wait for a table at both the Gray and Memorial locations, but for large parties and weekend dining, they also accept reservations.
